Bartlett, TN – December 8, 2025 – NBB, a leading M&A advisory firm in auto retail, served as the exclusive transaction advisor to Serra Automotive in the sale of its Chevrolet dealership in Bartlett, TN, to the Springhill Automotive Group of Mobile, AL. The store will be renamed Dobbs Brothers Chevrolet of Bartlett.
Headquartered in Fenton, Michigan, Serra Automotive is one of the nation’s top ten privately held retail automotive groups. Founded in 1973 by Albert Serra as a single-point Chevrolet store in Grand Blanc, MI, the company has grown under current leadership—Chairman Joe Serra and President Matt Serra—to operate 62 dealerships across seven states. Today, Serra Automotive employs more than 3,600 people and represents 87 franchises and 27 brands nationwide.
Springhill Automotive Group, based in Mobile, AL, has served markets throughout the Southeast for more than 26 years under the leadership of Tal Vickers. The organization represents the fourth generation of car dealers from the Dobbs’ family of Memphis, TN, whose automotive legacy dates back to 1921 in Memphis. “The Dobbs name means a lot in this area,” said Tal Vickers. “People in our communities know that when they hear the name Dobbs, they are hearing reliability, trustworthiness, and an answer to their automotive needs. We’re excited to bring the Dobbs name back to a community that means so much to me and my family.”
Anchored by its flagship stores—Springhill Toyota and Lexus of Mobile—the group has expanded to seven dealerships across Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, representing Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Volkswagen, and Ford.
“It was a pleasure working with the advisors at NBB,” said Joe Serra, Chairman of Serra Automotive. “They are seasoned professionals who understand the auto industry deeply and leverage their experience and relationships to make the buy–sell process seamless for their clients.”
For Tal Vickers, strategic, measured growth remains a core priority for Springhill Automotive. Still, acquiring a strong store in his hometown made this opportunity especially meaningful. “I’ve known Joe Serra for some time and made sure he knew I was interested if he ever chose to make a move with the Bartlett store,” Vickers said. “Joe and Matt Serra run an exceptional organization, and we were thrilled when the NBB team reached out to present the opportunity.”
“This transaction marks another milestone in NBB’s history of working with leading dealership groups nationwide,” said Zach Kuzemka, CEO of NBB. “The successful outcome underscores how high-performing auto groups are proactively realigning their portfolios to stay aligned with long-term strategies. We congratulate Tal Vickers and the Springhill Automotive Group team on the acquisition and look forward to seeing the dealership thrive under its new leadership and new name—Dobbs Brothers Chevrolet of Bartlett.”
The NBB deal team was led by Scott Mackie and Jeff Rochwarger.
